2019-07-08: Dead Pinon Pine at the top of Monte Sol near Santa Fe
On the top of Monte Sol wind and drought make life difficult for vegetation to thrive. This Pinon pine had a long successful life but could not survive the last winters. New bushes and trees are growing nearby, slowly occupying the space left open. Monte Sol is a rounded hill easily recognizable south-east of the Santa Fe City center.
