2019-08-19: A tiny Juniper on the trail of the Audubon Center east of Santa Fe
Near the Audubon Center and Sanctuary, east of Santa Fe, are easy trails giving access to the lower elevations of the Sangre de Cristo forest. This tiny Juniper manages to grow on the trail near some rocks below which moisture and cool temperatures remain during hot dry periods.
