2019-07-08: View of Atalaya Mountain (8,100 ft) from Monte Sol (7,000 ft)
From the top of Monte Sol (7,000 ft, 2,100 m) one gets a great view of Atalaya Mountain (8,100 ft, 2,500 m) and the Sangre de Cristos. Monte Sol is easily recognized as a rounded dome immediately east of Santa Fe. The Camino del Monte Sol links Canyon Road to Old Santa Fe Trail. A small parking lot along Old Santa Fe Trail is a natural starting point to climb to the top of Monte Sol.
