The part of Canyon Road closest to the city center is world famous as having the highest density of art galleries in Santa Fe. Walking farther west, beyond the art center, brings you into old houses, some of which have not changed for a century or more. While some houses have been recently renovated, others, arguably more charming, are in dear need of repairs.
