2020-08-16: Cool shade along the Acequia Madre, Santa Fe
The Acequia Madre is a protected historical water ditch which was used to water farms along it. Properties which border the ditch, in Santa Fe as well as farther downstream, still own water rights. During drought periods water runs only occasionally, but the trees which grow in the area are still enjoying good soil and underground moisture. The street that follows the ditch is also known as Acequia Madre.
